One Busy Day of Networking!

On Tuesday, April 14th we had such a busy day networking!
Southern Ocean County Chamber of Commerce’s luncheon was great. Every second Tuesday of the month the Chamber meets at the Holiday Inn located in Stafford for some local networking and update on the latest Chamber events. This luncheon was even better because Congressmen, D-3rd District, John Adler came to have an open conversation about the economy and how they were coming up with ways for our County to excel in this hard time. It was very informative and we left feeling good about the future and changes to come.

Later that night we drove to Neshanic Valley Country Club for the Central Jersey A.B.C. networking event. This was great! We met with a lot of bridal consultants and vendors that were a delight to talk to. The location was beautiful and the food was excellent. Erik Kent spoke about how to grow your business in a down economy. After listening to him speak, we couldn’t help but come back to work and just get in gear on how to boost our the estate at an affordable cost.

All in all, it was a great day with lots of learning and excitement. We are looking forward to the South Jersey A.B.C. networking event on Tuesday, April 21st.

Spring Cleaning for Wedding Season

When we say "family owned and operated" we mean it. Take a look at us getting ready for wedding season and our "Open House" on May 21, 2009!

Every year the deck gets repainted. This year we changed the color to a nice neutral that will work with any wedding color. It actually becomes a great bonding experience with the family and nothing but good jokes and old stories from years past.

We own a lot of our own equipment to do expansions and renovations. Here we are making more room for a future plans to expand an extra reception area. Lots of growth to come!

Finally, here is the newest feature. Our extended pool side. This is great for food stations or even just a cake display. To get really creative, you can feature your first dance here, an ice sculpture, or even and extra bar for signature drinks. The list can go on and on.

Check back soon with more updates on the Open House and what's just bloomed in our garden!

Chamber of Commerce Orientation

Today we attended our new member orientation through the Southern Ocean County Chamber of Commerce. It was great learning about the new organization that we have become a part of. If anyone is looking for information about Long Beach Island events or anything in the area, wwww.discoversouthernocean.com is the place to go.

They are opening the door for the wedding industry and is desination events. On April 19th they are hosting their first ever "Wedding Road Show". This allows brides to get a map of the wedding venues and special locations that might benefit them for there wedding at the shore.

You can find us at this road show. Unfortunetly not showing off our place yet, but at a local rental company's place of business. Since we are seasonal, we can not show our estate so early in the season.

Please check out the website above for great events going on at the "Jersey Shore". You will be pleasently suprised!

Estate and Outdoor Wedding Locations

This article was found off of New Jersey's Primier Bride Magazine and give great insite to Estates and out door events.

You and your fiancé have a love like no other. So why not plan your wedding in a setting that is equally grand? New Jersey is home to many estates and mansions, both public and private, perfect for hosting your big day.

Carol Beaugard, president and founder of Affairs of Distinction in Upper Montcliar, says that one of the benefits of holding a wedding on an estate is the uniqueness it offers to the couple and their guests. Estates often
feature impressive mansions, architectural elements, and expansive grounds, presenting a majestic backdrop for a wedding. Imagine a summer wedding with cocktails on the veranda as guests wander through beautiful gardens, or a winter wedding in front of a roaring fire.
Estates also offer a private setting for an event. “Couples can be assured that their affair will be held in peaceful seclusion with private access limited to
their guest list,” says Beaugard. And since most of these venues plan only one wedding per day or weekend, you won't be rushed out after three hours because the next couple is on their way in.
But these fabulous locations often involve a lot more work and planning than an average wedding. In many cases, everything from tents and chairs to generators and dance floors will have to be brought in. “When handling a wedding of this magnitude and detail,” says Beaugard, “it is best to work with a professional who can manage the event so it runs smoothly and properly.” But for brides who would rather go it alone, there are things that can help smooth the way.
Try to find a venue that has held events similar to what you have in mind. And keep logistics like proximity to hotels for out-of-town guests in mind.
Another thing to think about is accessibility. Will anyone attending the wedding have special requirements, like wheelchairs or walkers? Some locations are much better suited to handicapped needs than others.
Also keep in mind that your location may affect your guest list. Many mansions and historic homes available for weddings have space for only a limited number of guests inside. These locations are perfect for an intimate wedding of 30, but if your dream day includes 350 of your nearest and dearest, you will also have to think about renting tents, and what to do if the weather makes tenting impossible.
“As with any wedding, always have a back-up plan,” suggests Beaugard. Whether you need it or not, it will give you the peace of mind you need to enjoy your perfect day in the perfect setting.
